Major Buttrick Memorial, 1913-1915,

Location: at the corner of Estabrook Road and Liberty St., Concord

Description: Major John Buttrick (1731-1791), officer of the minute men, stood, on April 19, 1775, where The Minute Man by French now stands and gave the command to fire back. French did the research for the memorial, designed and supervised it, and sculptor Edmond T. Quinn (1868-1929) modeled it. French gave Buttrick the handsome face of his grandson, after seeing it in a daguerreotype.
